This role will partner with the Manager of Performance Management and Development to play a key role in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the talent management initiatives, with a primary focus on performance management through sharing of ideas, expertise and insights.As a Talent Management Specialist, responsibilities include:

  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enhanced, organization-wide talent management programs and processes (e.g., performance management, succession planning, talent reviews) by understanding the needs of schools/units, combined with university-wide goals and objectives.
  • Optimize Oracle system-related activities for talent processes, including configuration support, system testing, training, and post-launch support in collaboration with the technology team.
  • Align program communication strategy to meet the unique needs of employee and manager audiences, ensuring clarity and relevance in partnership with the HR communications team.
  • Design, deliver and manage training courses and performance support tools such as job-aids including, content uploads, workshop facilitation and maintenance.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to academic and/or business unit management on adoption, customization, implementation, and measurement of effectiveness for talent programs.
  • Contribute to the development and operation of the program, including feedback collection, survey design and deployment, data analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and local HR partners to ensure seamless integration of talent processes into the broader employee lifecycle (e.g., talent acquisition, onboarding, learning and development, compensation, etc.).
  • Manage system and program queries and issues, with an eye to continuously improve.It is an exciting opportunity to serve as a liaison between University Human Resources and all schools/business units to help maximize the potential of our performance and growth by effectively supporting change management. This position is designated as hybrid and will require a minimum of two days on-site at the Redwood City campus, Stanford main campus and/or SLAC campus.JOB PURPOSE:Plan, develop, and execute one or more talent management projects and/or programs.CORE DUTIES*:
    • Provide consultation to HR business partners and/or unit managers on adoption, customization, and implementation of programs that meet organizational needs.
    • Develop, manage, and facilitate project plans for the implementation of new talent management programs or processes.
    • Determine the effectiveness of programs through the analysis of appropriate metrics and recommend program adjustments as needed.
    • Conduct interviews, organize focus groups and administer surveys to assess needs.
    • Assist team members to develop and manage budgets for assigned projects and programs.
    • Research available vendor programs and curriculum based on customer needs and customize as needed.
    • Manage vendor relationships to ensure service level agreements are met and recommend vendor replacements, if necessary. Partner with communication, vendor, and team coordinators to develop and implement effective communication plans and materials.
    • May serve as facilitator for talent development programs.

      • Experience implementing effective talent management solutions.
      • Strong program/project management skills and experience.
      • Experience supporting and communicating with multiple stakeholder groups including partners, customers, and campus leaders.
      • Ability to establish a strong partnership with human resources partners and other team members.
      • Presentation or facilitation skills preferred.
      • Strong, fundamental skills in technology/platform supporting business operations and communications.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
        • Possess subject matter expertise on talent management practices.
        • Demonstrated ability to establish a strong partnership with the human resources partners and other members of the management team.
        • Expertise and experience developing and implementing effective talent management solutions, including career development, learning and development, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
        • Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships amongst multiple diverse stakeholders.
        • Strong program/project management skills and experience.
        • Ability to build the confidence of others through open communication and respectful behavior.
        • Ability to connect with customers, partners, suppliers, and colleagues across functions to achieve significant results.
        • Ability to positively influence others by gaining consensus through factual information and cooperation from others to accomplish common goals.Certifications and Licenses:NonePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
          • Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
          • Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
