UCSF Office of Medical Education is seeking a senior project manager who brings expertise in strategic planning, project management, policy development, and business process analysis. This includes leading and supervising a project team, setting deadlines, creating action plans, and developing systems to provide feedback and communicate project status with stakeholders across multiple departments and functional areas.

In collaboration with the San Joaquin Valley Program In Medical Education Plus (SJV PRIME+) program leads and teams at three campuses (UCSF, UCSF Fresno, and UC Merced), the senior project manager will use advanced professional concepts and objectives to translate program goals into actionable steps for the project team, as well as address and resolve complex policy and/or program issues. The incumbent independently uses and applies in-depth knowledge and experience in managing projects that impact the entire organization and program to enable the expansion of medical education in the San Joaquin Valley. They operate in a highly visible, politically sensitive, complex, and evolving arena.

The senior project manager works on significant, strategic issues and problems requiring political sensitivity, where analysis of circumstances and information requires an in-depth evaluation of factors. The incumbent will demonstrate expert interpersonal and collaborative skills to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and leaders at all levels across three campuses and externally. They provide leadership, guidance, education, and policy development, as well as formulate new policies and procedures for implementation. They represent the organization to internal and external constituencies.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with an expert understanding of program and project management in support of senior leaders of complex programs. The candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of operational experience in which the individual has demonstrated expert judgment in working with leaders and key stakeholders to achieve project goals. This position will report to the SJV PRIME+ Program Director, as well as partner with organizational and program leads.UCSF Office of Medical Education is seeking a senior project manager who brings expertise in strategic planning, project management, policy development, and business process analysis. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Department Description

The School of Medicine's Office of Medical Education (OME) oversees all health professions education programs for the school of medicine which includes 1,200 teaching faculty, 650 medical students, 1500 residents and fellows and 30,000 continuing education activities each year. UCSF's medical school was ranked third in research and primary care education by the US News and World Report for the 2017 Best Medical School. UCSF is the only medical school listed in the top five in both categories. The Office of Medical Education sets all strategic directives for medical education across the enterprise. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in project management, operations, or program administration with a focus on cross-functional teams
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of the functional area and understands how work impacts other areas of educational programs
• Expert knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs
• Highly skilled communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage complex ideas and influence others, including senior leaders, both verbally and in writing to achieve project goals
• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
• Highly skilled in all levels of project management
• Expert knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures and external regulatory requirements in policy domain
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Expert knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques
• Expert analytical / problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Ability to be flexible, creative, and resourceful to navigate challenges internally and externally
